On rockauto they don't list the power stop kit for 2006, I thought it was because it wasn't available in the US in 2006, and power stop just omitted the year... It seems odd that they use a slightly different backing plate for one year only. Anyhow I managed to make it fit on the passenger side. ***Edit*** After I blew 2 wheel cylinders on the driver side, I've decided to do some more inspection and figured it's the handbrake cables, I didn't think it would be the issue as it was loose and not being used, I'm such a noob, lol... I think the previous owner loosen the handbrake adjuster in order to free the rear brakes after it was parked for awhile. I got 2 backing plates at the scrapyard since I ground the bottom slots on mine. I installed the shoes without the handbrake cable hooked and the drums fits over! So I'll cut the cable behind the backing plate and order new cables from rockauto, Toyota wants 100+$cad/ cable. Last edited by Desircustoms; 05-15-2020 at 01:24 PM. |
