the more muffling and baffling the better on 4cyl motors unless they're a boxer setup (check out impreza sound clips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehQXURqg8vA) or they're turbo (which works as a muffler: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2THJ_QYDig).
