I'm currently using a G1, I have limited experience of the iPhone through friends, and well, design and user interface-wise, nothing can touch the iPhone... The camera on the G1 sucks big time. Takes ages for it to focus, but the time it takes the picture, whatever you were taking a picture of, will no longer be there. Unless you take a picture of a rock or brick, but still, no guarantees.

But, the G1 has major geek appeal. Being essentially a Linux-phone, it's very hackable, writing applications for it should be relatively easy too... Oh and I forgot to mention how well it integrates with many of Google's web-based services, Gmail and contacts, obviously...

I could go on and on and on and on but I think you can find more information by digging around online, so,to summarize, if you want something that is really sleek and user-friendly (though limited), go ahead with the iPhone... If you want something a bit more challenging/rewarding, but that won't win you any style awards, go G1...
