australian vs american models: timing chain

Hi all,

I am wondering whether there'd be any difference in the engines between the Aussie and US versions of the 2002 Echo? Specifically, information for the US model says it uses a timing chain. Surely the aussie version would also have a timing chain (and not a belt)?

any info gratefully taken

cheers
christian
