Cheap
Strong
Light

You can't have all three.

If you want cheap and light get the Rota's (but be warned, they are not the strong)

If you want cheap and strong get something like the wheels you mention from the Tire Rack (but be warned they are HEAVY)

If you want strong and light get something like the Volks or Watanabes (a little pricier, but well worth it IMHO)!

Yes, Rotas are quite cheap. But we are talking about the Konig Helium

No doubt, the Helium is also a cheap wheel.

What really irritates me is how some people use "cheap" wheels like Rotas, Konig Heliums, etc, for high stress purposes like auto-x and then complain that they fail. Come on people, are you going to enter a construction site wearing a bicycle helmet?

These wheels weren't meant for auto-x'ing, depsite the RACING label on the rim. They just aren't designed for that purpose.

My gut feeling is that some people bought Rotas, cheaper Konigs, ran them at auto-x, fucked them up, and then presented their sob story on a forum.

Again, I see no reason how these wheels (Konig Helium) would crack or fail under normal driving conditions.
