USB connection to IPOD input
Hey guys,
I bought an 09 Yaris a few months ago and have been trying to find a way to hook up an mp3 player/flash drive/external hard drive to the stock stereo. I've been googling this for a few hours and all I can find is info on 1) the AUX input near the e-brake and 2) the IPOD adapter cable that plugs in the back of the HU. Has anyone ever tried adapting a mini-USB cable to the 12 pin connector on the back of the HU? I assume this 12 pin connection is for the IPOD adapter Toyota sells. I don't think getting the cable connected will be a problem, but I'm not sure if the HU will even be able to talk to the various USB devices I want to use with it, display the song titles, and navigate the file system. Is this even possible, or do I HAVE to get an after-market HU? Thanks, Aaron |
