Thanks!
Update - just finished the install - it's really a breeze to remove the head unit and install this iPod/Phone adapter - less than 15 minutes to remove the dash trim, head unit, install, mount the convertor unit and drill an access hole in the glove box, and put it back together. Only things needed was a phillips screwdriver, drill with step bit, and a couple wire ties for mounting the box. Although pricey (with $20 discount coupon at Crutchfield, I paid $129, and yes, a new head unit isn't much more...but it's more, and I have to to stop spending somewhere...), I really like how this unit integrates the iPhone into the head unit controls. It supports six custom playlists (named Toyota1xxx, 2xxx, etc) using the changer controls, and of course you can control the unit manually as always. Track and artist name appear in the head unit display, and changing tracks/playlists is smooth (I've heard it can be a little slow...maybe that's with hard-drive based iPods). Next week, cargo net and mudguards...checking off the $$ savings that would have cost soooooo much more at the dealer (thanks TRDSPARKS.com).. Sound quality is very good. Much superior (of course) than FM transmitter, and I think notably better quality than what you get with the aux plug. Also works fine with the TomTom Navigation app on the iPhone.
