Got boost... and a few questions
I got Morgan's Blitz S/C kit last week (thanks Garm for hooking me up) and installed it over the weekend.
and the powa that comes with it but...When the engine starts cold, it revs relatively high, around 2,000 rpm for a bit. Once it warms up and the idle goes down below 1,000 rpm the idle is not as smooth as it used to be. It's irregular and goes up and down, I'd say as low as 600-700 rpm and as high as 1,000 rpm. Almost like the ECU is struggling to keep the engine running at idle. If I touch the accelerator just a bit, everything smooths out. My problem is that *sometimes* when idling at this low RPM, the CEL comes on. It's P0171 (too lean) and P0300 through P0304 (random misfire on all cylinders). I've only had the kit on for 2 days now and started the car maybe 10-15 times so far and I was wondering, is it just an adaptation phase for the ECU or is it something that could be fixed? Or SHOULD be fixed? Since this only happens at idle, I'm not very concerned about it, but I'd still like some opinions. I changed the spark plugs from the stock ones to the Blitz recommended ones. Yesterday for instance I left home, drove for 30 minutes, with 2 stops inbetween, then took the car up a moutain road, pulled over to check the map and while idling on the side of the road, the CEL came on. It might have even been more than 45 minutes or so since I had left the home. Any thoughts?
