Drat. I was bummed to find out that the Yaris doesn't automatically turn off the headlights when the driver's door opens (when car turned off). My 1994 Corolla did that and I got used to driving w/ the lights on all the time. I do feel that's safer. But the Yaris doesn't do that, and although my 2010's manual mentioned DRLs, the lights do NOT come on when I start the car so apparently I don't have them.
Yeah, I could just turn the lights on whenever I get into the car, but after 6 years in the Corolla of not having to remember to turn off the lights, I figure I've got a 1/100 chance of NOT screwing up and leaving them on. It WILL happen. So I dare not do it during the day. Why in the world did they discontinue the DRLs? And if they did, why not make the lights go off automatically? Car manufacturers make NO SENSE. Here I was all excited b/c I have the intermittant wiper option back (the 94 Corolla did not have it, believe it or not, and that can be really annoying on a misty day!) and they had to take something away to make up for it! |
