Going from the stock lightweight 15 steelies with tires to some at least 10lbs heavier per wheel 18's will make a HUGE negative impact on your gas mileage. I've tested it before on another small 4 cylinder car, and the difference between 15 lb stock 15's to 27lb 18's was 4mpg avg. That hits the wallet hard. Not to mention the half second it will add to your already slow 0-60 time. Getting a Yaris off the line with heave 17's/18's will be harder on the clutch too. Not to mention the tremendous stress the shock, springs, and brakes get from trying to control that boat anchor of a wheel.
You might be able to tell that wheels/tires are my forte. I can't stand bling boys that think they're rolling hard with their 19's. Only people they're impressing is the clueless. All real enthusiats know JDM/race ftw. Hope you made the right decision. |
