100$ off a piece of kit that costs up to 800$ is peanuts. its an overpriced piece of chinese components which costs them about 10$ to make. sorry not impressed

There's only one part of that statement that has some merit. It does indeed cost them $10 in manufacturing costs, while the components inside add up to $219.35 for a total of $229.35 for the basic 16GB, Wi-Fi only model that was originally $499.00.
