DIY: NST Short Shift Kit [NonStopTuning] - Toyota Yaris Forums

After installing and running with it for a while, the gears became a bit stiffer to shit into and out of. Kinda like a "dry hump" to get over/into to get into the gates.

Sprayed down the whole NST and gear linkage and top of gear box with WD-40, and it shifts smooth as baby oil.

Are there any ill effects from just whimsically spraying WD-40 around at all places in the car? Avoiding surfaces that get hot, like the exhaust and engine block, can I safely spray WD-40 on everything else without messing up? (nuts and bolts, to keep from rusting)
