Hell no. The good 'ol USA is an automatic driving country. Even the few of us that still do drive manuals don't know how to do it properly. Just check the forums for awhile. I've seen people advocate not engine breaking -- and a lot of people I've seen drive manuals don't do this. Automatics, at least, down shift for you. But coasting in neutral with the clutch engaged is hard on the transmission and breaks -- and poor practice -- besides dangerous. Breaks can overheat and fail doing things like that. Manual driving is a bit of a lost art in the USA -- with the exemption of truckers I suppose.
