2008 Yaris Sedan Fuel Door Cable Broke

I have a 2008 Yaris sedan that I need to fix a fuel door cable on. The cable has broken (rusted out) near the pull lever by the seat. I have managed to take the plastic lever off and put a pair of vise-grips on what's left of the cable to open the fuel door. I have the replacement cable and can see where the cable goes to the fuel door and can access it from the rear quarter panel but my question is this: How do I removed the old cable from the fuel door?

I have seen this post: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53149 but it doesn't say how to remove it.

Is there a clip that needs to be removed, it's a in a bit of a tight spot and I can't tell.

Any help would be appreciated.
