Engine bay prettification project

Just an idea trotting in my head, our engine bays are overloaded with that hideous ribbed plastic cable sleeving and electrical tape, especially when the plastic engine cover is removed.

There's the possibility to replace spark plug wires with some nicer, colored ones, but for most of the rest, I'd like to keep the wiring in place, but use colored spiral wrap instead.

Now the question is, can standard spiral wrap (such as is used in computer customization) withstand the heat of an engine bay?
