Another thing to remember , a front wheel drive car often gets in trouble driving up a steep hill in snow and ice. There's a lot of weight transfer to the rear wheels driving up hills, leaving much less weight on those front drive wheels. If it 's safe, without traffic, try driving in REVERSE up the hill , which will give an opposite effect. I've done this, and it often works.
