Really? I guess I stand corrected. Well its the same body type but different engine setup and suspension etc or pretty much a souped up Rabbit or performance version like the Si is to Civic. Okay technically its a 200bhp Rabbit...er GTI.

Going along with what others mentioned, they changed the name to Rabbit again not only to bring back "memories" but also to reach out to a new generation at least that's what they want you to believe.
