Ya, thats too much money for something that wouldent save you all that much weight, the rear hatch doesnt weigh too much to begin with I wouldent think, it would be mostly for aesthetic appeal.

I think its pretty reasonable.

But the heaviest part of the hatch is the glass. Steel doesn't weigh that much, especially when companies use 22ga... Galvanized 22ga only weighs 1.5lbs/sf. If its 18ga though, its 2 1/8lb/sf. Theres maybe 10-15lbs of steel in the hatch.

But $700 for a CF hatch is a pretty good price ;)
