I learned about the cup weirdness when I asked for water--they told me they track portions by counting cups, and while the water was free, they had to charge me 50 cents for the fucking cup! They also said no fast food restaurant is supposed to refill a drink in a used cup, or take your germ-ridden personal cup back behind the counter for health reasons. But that was a long time ago, who knows, maybe their bizarre cup protection policies have changed...

Oh yes, they are very well concerned about the publics health and safety

best beans I ever had were Kona beans when I was in Maui and Honolulu, but buying those beans is like paying for pot!

WRONG! I may put up with crap coffee when I have to, but at home I use only the best fresh beans and am willing to pay top dollar for kona or blue mountain! I like to use a french press also. No cream, no sugar.

I was shopping for a french press this weekend, I use a percolator at home and I too deal with disgusting coffee here at work in the afternoons but it keeps me going

Get one! The difference is dramatic, not kidding. It's better than a drip coffee maker which traps the coffee's oils in the filter, and a percolator can overheat it and make it bitter. With a french press all the oils end up in your cup, and no bitterness, just the best tasting coffee you ever put in your mouth! Plus, it only takes about 5 minutes to make.
