i hope you meant HAPPY. but seriously, we should all make an attempt to refrain from using the word "gay" in order to mean "crappy" or "shitty." when i was teaching high school math in south central LA, all my kids ever said was "this shit's gay" over and over again, referring to crappy or unappealing things. i was able to make a difference there by showing them how they'd feel if i started calling bad things/situations their ethnicity, like saying "this shit's black" or "this shit's mexican." it immediately stopped them from using "gay" as a derogatory term, at least in my classroom. i'm far from being the most politically correct person here, but im hoping this post will at least make some people think before they say "that's fuckin gay" ...
