I went from a Camry to a Yaris and have no regrets.

true dat but...

well call it what you want, i just want a 5-spd LOL.

my camry has gotten ping'd in the parking lot at work by ppl
who just dont give a rat's pat00tie about cars or other people's
property, and It infuriates me. this would be not only a commuter
car but a toy for me. I cant believe how i've really gotten into
cars lately! Im treating this like a present for (hopefully) graduating
from nursing school in Dec, albeit giving it to myself a bit early lol.

men have their mid-life crisis sports car, I have my mid-life crisis
car-of-my-youth. lol. When I was 20 all I wanted was a VW Beetle
and to be a stewardess. Well, I've accomplished everything in life
I've set out for, except I've never owned a VW Bug....and now
I want to deliver a Yaris to my 2-toned, glossy floor'd
chair-rail decorated garage! haha.

Bayou Blue Metallic would match the walls of my garage but
i think im leaning toward Polar White.

There is a lot of truth in this.

This would be the most cost effective thing to do if you were looking to get into something new and more fuel efficient.

I agree about the power pkg....unless you're into the bare bones.
As far as it goes with cross wind; you could just lower it like a lot of folks on this site. It really improves the handling with out a lot of compromise on the ride.
If you have to deal with stop and go traffic you will want to lean more toward an automatic. I personally enjoy a manual too much to compromise the performance for convenience.

Best of luck!
