i thought cutting a coil or two will make your car more bouncy.

No cutting coils here lol. Does anyone have a decent verus picture the picture on the Tein site has like 18's on it. Is there a picture of Tein on stock wheels or something? The Tanabe's looked like they tucked in this picture.

Cutting coils effects the spring rate....makes it harsher/stiffer for the same amount of travel. Think of your spring as a torsion bar....if you straightened it out and tried to twist it, (usng the same diameter rod) the longer the rod the easier it is to twist, shortening increases the force required to twist to the same degree of movement.
