$2.82 a gallon. It must be all the taxes that keep it higher than the midwest.

I thought the taxes on gas was uniform across the country?

Not even close my friend. Wisconsin has the highest or second highest state tax on gasoline, but, that's partially due to the fact that we have no tolls. For example, I live very close to Illinois and Iowa and yesterday, a friend and I went through parts of all three states and the prices for regular unleaded were like this:

Wisconsin: $2.49
Iowa: $2.35
Illinois: $2.15

Furthermore, there are different levels of gas tax in different cities, and the location of the stations within the cities themselves dictate taxes as well. Basically, it sucks and we are all taxed differently.

I never thought I'd see it that low again after $4+.

We could soon see below $2 as it is going down every day still.

Wow, only $22 to fill my Yaris and I can go 400 miles!!! WooHoo!

$2.66 in South Eastern NY but just over the border in Conn. it was $2.31 today at Sunoco. Only 15 mile difference but 35 cents less.

The cheapest I've seen around is $2.35, but I heard somewhere in Orlando it was $2.10.
