Steady speeds for long periods are not good during the break-in period. Try to vary the speed a lot; speed up & slow down. The purpose is to load & unload the rings and apply different kinds of loads on all the other parts.
A spirited drive down a country road is just right, but don't run the piss out of it (despite what Mr. Mototune says). One thing I do agree with Mr. Mototune about is changing the oil early & often. Breaking in an engine right can be a lot of work... Everyone seems to have an opinion, this is just mine.
