I also voted for Barr, I knew very well that my vote didn't matter, not because I was voting 3rd party, but because I live in Illinois, Obama's home state that has a long history of voting dem (thanks Chicago)

if you determine that I wasted my vote because I felt the candidate that I supported was the best fit to pass my beliefs as to how the country should be run, I ask you why? just because I know my guy isn't going to win this election I should just stay home? or should I join the crowd and vote for who I think will win? maybe I should pick the lesser of two evils? perhaps the better looking candidate should get my vote?

the only vote that was thrown away is the ballot that was not cast

something tells me that "the ignorant side of the U.s voter" did what they did for a reason, not just a hollow campaign promise and a good marketing scheme.

I am BEYOND BEYOND thrilled! History has been made, and I have never EVER been more proud to be an American...certainly not in the past 8 years.

I cried happy tears when Obama won. Possibilities seem truly limitless.

The word can't no longer exists.

we go into the election as a herd of cattle the popular vote is not what decides the election (as seen in Al Gore's case) so I stand by my decision to call voting for anything but the two majority parties a wasted vote UNLESS:

DISCLAIMER!!!!

The non majority party (libertarian/green whatever) is in a position where they will garner a significant amount of the vote /have a chance of actually winning....

Voting for someone that doesn't have a chance doesn't mean you threw your vote away, It shows your idea of a who a good president would be. You don't vote for someone based on if they will win or lose. z.B. "I will vote for Obama/McCain because I think he will win."

(Even though the votes really don't mean too much anyway...)

Enter the military. Do something to legitimize this enormous movement we have created from the ground up.

I really think this next four years could be the best four yet.
What?!? You mean we will have to do stuff? I thought Obama was gonna make life awesome by himself with his pixie dust! LOL. I didn't need Obama to give me some motivation to do something good in my community...
