I hate the dealership
I had a problem wiht my headlight couple days ago; therefore, I went to the dealership. guess what? they f**king blame on me that the after market bulb caused the problem and refuse to let me claim the warranty. end up charge me $113 for replace a fuse and there is $95 for labour cost.
take an hour to replace a fuse?????????? what the f**k? ![]() ![]()

Well, most service type places will charge an hour minimum. No matter how small the job is. Thats just the way it is.

It isn't too far fetched if your bulb is a different current draw from stock, or hasn't been installed properly such that water seepage caused a short and hence blown fuses.
If you want your warranty, keep your car stock till the warranty runs out.

Thats nothing the dealership that I bought my car from screwed me. a month later I take the car into another dealership and they said the car seems like it wasn't inspected when it was delivered. I'm pissed at the place I bought it from. But I have a very good dealer in another city I deal with now. Brand new car and after driving it a month almost no oil in the car. BTW there is nothing wrong with the car the original dealer just decided not to put oil in it when it came off the truck.

In Colorado we have a few places that are not dealerships but do Toyata warranty work. The Toy Doctor is one of them. As Cleong said, I would be real concerned about what caused the fuse to blow in the first place.

Was there a warning light for low oil? I would be trying to get a new car from the dealer. Driving with no oil would cause a lot of damage.

Don't have any OEM parts for mine just yet, but I've learned a thing or two from past experience. Personally prefer to keep all my OEM parts for times like these. That way the next time something goes wrong, I could just switch-out the aftermarket part for the OEM part that came with the car. The result is a dealer who sees a pseudo-failed part that has a better chance of being covered by the warranty. Once it's fixed I'll switch back, unless it continues to cause the same problem.
Yeah sure it's dishonest, but then again ANYONE has a better chance than the dealer when it comes to passing a lie-detector test IMO...

Well the car oil was just very low not totally empty. BTW how often do you guys check your oil? how many km's. Needless to say the car runs great and has been checked by a very good toyota dealer not the monkeys I bought it from.

Drive around quite a bit, so usually once a week is plenty. Still takes a while for the yellow dipstick to start showing brown, so no worries

It would have never crossed my mind to check the oil on a brand new car.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate my local dealership at a 3. Wouldn't it be great if Toyota made the dealers take 'Customer Service' training. The dealership here screwed me pretty hard, ONCE. It's funny, when you tell people about it you end up hearing about all the other people who have had similar situations. They might sell a good brand of car, but in the end they're still car salesmen. |
