No.

The cheap Tein kit is the closest to what you are looking for. Any other coilover will be very stiff.

Again, save yourself some money and get dampers, springs and a sway bar if you are worried about the ride.

Good point. It's nearly impossibly to be "slammed" and have a good ride.

what I'm trying to get at is there a difference in feeling from the tein or cusco being lowered compared to a fully adjustable coilover like the bc with a low dampening setting? I know the ride quality will be worse but I'm trying to avoid the car bouncing in the air if I hit a pothole.

No. Cuscos, BCs, Megans, K sports Silk etc. are all still very stiff (relative to stock dampening) at the softest setting.

If you have to ask how stiff they are.. they will probably be too stiff for you.

The Tien basics that are only height adjustable are softer, and ride like performance struts.

I think you should probably ride in a car with coils at some point before you buy them. They don't bother a lot of people, but the difference in stiffness is night and day versus the stock setup. This has been consistent with every vehicle I've ever ridden in after coilovers were installed.

Coils make sense if you're going to be adjusting the car a lot, raising up, lowering back down, tracking it, getting it corner balanced and properly set up.. Otherwise I'd just do springs. It's a lot easier and then you don't have to mess with it all the time. If you just want to slam the car, do an air suspension. More money, but rides much, much smoother. And you can just put the whole car on the ground.

you won't bounce in the air if you hit a pothole, however it will feel like you were driving a car with no suspension if you did. i've just learned to drive like a cat and avoid every bump/dip/object on the road. if you are willing to do this, you'll be fine. ;)

well when i mean stiff i mean like a rock... the silck roads I had put on my 240, yes i had them adjusted to a stiff setting, were insanely stiff like rocks. My old z was stiff but that's the stiffest i want to get. I am gonna be tracking it and stuff to that nature so I am deffinatley gonna want adjustability, plus i've ridden in a car with springs and to me it feels horrible compared to a car with coilovers, I've just never been in a car with coilover that somone has had them soft. Everyone I know has them on a really stiff setting and i was just wondering if any of the racing ones felt more like a stock sports car than a race car.

i think the majority of the people on this site with coilovers has the car dropped 2" or more. I don't think people will be able to tell you what you want to hear. dude just buy the coilovers already. i don't know what else we can tell you

Teins FTW!

I'm dropped like 2", the streets here suck big time and the ride still is really good.

I tend to drive quite aggressively, I used to have lowering springs (Tanabe DF) those just didn't make it for me.
I daily drive my car, I don't mind a stiff ride but given the condition of the streets here a very stiff ride will translate into a loose and rattling car in a couple of months. So I went for the Tein kit. I love it. Really smooth is a different feel to upgrade from the Tanabe springs to the Tein Basic.

I agree with other reviewers, it will not be the optimal option if you are planning to track your car more than a couple pf times a year. By the same money you can buy a coilover that allows much more adjustability.

But by reading what you are looking for I say you will be really happy with the Teins.

Don't know anything about the Cuscos so I can't comment. Not sure how easy will be to find a replacement shock or to have a cusco unit re-worked. At least for the Tein I know you have a good support in case you blow a shock or something.

well that's good to know... really i am deciding between the tein and the bc because they are both the same price i just don't knwo if i want better ide quality or better adjustability. It is my daily driver and it's basically hills and turns and cracks all over the roads. However it wouldbe nice to be able to adjust the camber and dampening. I'm really leaning torwards the bc because i do drive hard around the turns. Right now i slide through alot and i think it's mainly cuz of my height.

any opinions on what's the best coilover under 1k? teins, BC, k-sport, megan, D2 is all I know of for under 1k ... gave up on the whole nice soft ride idea and just want something that performs well. I'm leaning torwards the BC cuz they are gold and I kinda wanna do gold do gold and white for the car. You know keep it all matching, lol.
