I used one of these last time. I guess the torque spec on the filter is like screw on till it hits the top and then a 3/4 turn. The specs are in the service manual Thomas provided on here.

The factory oil filter had more torque than 3/4 turn. I have found that 3/4 to 1 turn works well and I am able to remove the old filter by hand.
