I don't know yet. I am toying with the idea of going nuke in the Navy, but I have read some horror stories about the difficulty of the program. It is basically a 36 month, postgraduate-level crash course in operating a nuclear reactor. Now that I tested, I am going to have to take a closer look at some of the other careers in the Navy/Air Force.

Husband was a Navy nuke on submarines. That's how we got to spend 3 1/2 years in Hawaii.
Youngest daughter is seeing a guy studying to be a Navy nuke. I think he's going the carrier route though. Does take a long time, is hard as there is lots of schooling, got paid more money for it though and gives you some usable skills when you get out. |
