I can easily afford a Mitsu Lancer, Mazda 3, VW Rabbit, Nissan Versa, Subie Outback, Honda Fit or Civic (all of which I've driven and considered), but I'm probably gonna go with the Yaris anyway. Why? I love its short wheelbase, light weight, simplicity, and all around zippiness/fun to drive factor. I love that its something out of the ordinary; not just another sedan on the road. I look forward to going some 400 miles on $18 worth of gas, and if it shoots back up, I'll be paying half of what everyone else is.

I'm coming from a 2001 BMW 3er, so I know what makes a quality car all around. The Yaris definitely shows some budgeting here and there, but it still drives great and the fit and finish of the interior doesn't horrify me by any means.

Oh yea, and unlike the Bimmer, the Yaris doesn't even register on the cock-o-meter :)

You must have missed the last Top Gear. All the cocks are now driving Audi's and in fact Jeremy said you'd have to be a cock to not own the latest //m3 sedan

(Strangely, the 5-door does not offer the manual transmission found in other Yaris versions, rare for an economy car. The manual lowers cost and fuel consumption and improves acceleration in other Yarises.)
Really?Thats a deal breaker in my book.
Does any one know if the Canadian version also only comes with the automatic/slushbox transmission?.

I believe the U.S. 5 door is the only one that is stuck with the automatic trans.
