'09 5-Door LB - Aux Jack Harness is different.

I'm guessing "ALO" is for the left channel and "ARO" is for the right channel.

In the '07 / '08 LBs, ASGN was for ground so it's probably the same for the '09. I think "AUXO" is for the HU to sense when something is connected to the aux jack. Now what's "AGND" for?

I subscribed to TIS to have access to the service manual.

ALO: Aux Left Output
ARO: Aux Right Output
AGND: Aux Ground
ASGN: Aux Signal Ground
AUXO: Aux Output (switched input to HU to indicate that cable is plugged into Aux jack)

AGND is the shield, where as ASGND is the audio signal ground. I think they added the shield to the 09's to fix the noise issue that some people complained of in prior years.

I looked at the connector on the back of the stock HU that the stock aux jack's harness connects to and the pins on the connector on the back of the stock HU look like needles. I thought that they were flat metal pins. If I solder each wire from my 3.5mm cable to a needle and insert the needle into the corresponding slot in the aux jack's harness connector, do you think that would work?

With audio you really want solid connections. I would just strip a small section off of the wire going to the oem connector, wrap the 3.5mm cable's wire around it, solder and tape.

I am going to do this myself to add an Aux-Aux jack inside the driver's glove box. I might build an audio mixer to let me feed my GPS and iPhone simultaneously.
