Yea it wasn't easy getting it so low. I had to make sure I was getting every possible discount. I was on my parents insurance until I got my own in May. Driver training as geico explained it to me was just taking driving classes or lessons. They didn't even ask for proof but if they need it I can provide it. The defensive driving one is that horrendous 5 hour course which I still haven't taken yet, but it will reduce my premium by 10% so I guess its worth it. For good student i think u have to be 16-24 yo and have a 3.0 enrolled in HS or college. You should try Geico to see what they quote you. They are pretty good with customer service but I haven't had any claims so I dont know how they will treat me with that.

thanks bro. i just called my company Esurance - you are right about the good student thing. DARN IT! the good student thing should apply to ALL full time college students/high school!!! Lol (But i guess it is used to compensate for younger driver usually expensive insurance)

Driver training....i talked to the rep, she didn't know what it really was - but i guess it is for recently finished driving class lessons......but thanks for your info. Geico seems to have more discounts.

New car discount, i believe only applies to straight from dealer correct? I bought mine second hand.

Just found out that they didn't apply for defensive driving......if it's 10% it should shave off 263 off my 1263. 1000 for six months is much better!

thanks for all the info though!

Not a real fair assessment of rates unless you find someone similar to your age and status in your area.
The credit rating assessment isn't in all states. It's illegal in Mass for a company to base your rate on your credit or disqualify you because of bad credit. I can't believe it's legal in most other states since you have to have insurance!

Wow, you're taking a chance with just liability....No coverage for yourself? No comprehensive? Remember, anything happens, and your potentially eating the whole value of your car or at least fixing any damage out of pocket.
