![]() Went to a dealer near me the other day and they can get me a Yellow Yaris with all the power options I'm looking for for $14k without any serious negtiating on my part. The plus side to paying cash is that you don't have to go through any of that credit check bullshit. The other dealer I went to near my house was really trying to unload cars too...so between those two and another that I've found that doesn't include any delivery fees for the car I should be able to come close to the price I'm trying to buy for. EDIT: Just found a 2009 in white with power options for $13,800. Last edited by firebird1999us; 02-01-2009 at 10:57 AM. |

![]() Anybody who pays $2000 for tax on a Yaris probably spent about $20k more than they should have on it in my neck of the woods

![]() That's kind of the situation I've been running into...the used ones are up for sale for as much as the new ones in a lot of the autotrader and craigslist ads I've seen in my area. I expect that from a dealer, but for sale privately it was kind of shocking! |

I also paid cash and paid Invoice (he showed me the invoice, and it matched what was on Edmunds) minus the $1000 rebate from Toyota, so $1000 under invoice, plus taxes and license. |

Also, does Nevada have a 200% sales tax? An extra $1000 should only result in about $80 in taxes at 8%, which is high because no state charges that much for new autos according to this list from Kilingers, which came from this article on tax-friendly states. By the way, this is what the same article said about your home state: Quote:

I am not sure about your state, however, we will pay tax no matter where or from whom the car is bought. We either go through the dealer and some will roll it into the loan or will write a big check to the DMV a month later.
