Either way, it's a heck of a lot better than the ~46.5 I usually get from our 1.5 gas engines, in the States. I just wish they would let me have this thing here!

That's pretty impressive even though it's the 1.4 D-4D engine.
I have the same engine but i'm averaging 47 MPG (US) and 56.4 MPG (UK).
I have to say that my a/c is always turned on, i step really hard on the pedal sometimes.
I have done 49 MPG (US) several times.
