The economy must be tough! Dads usually just go out and fix their little girls up with a car, right?

Hey =) I prob do sound like a kid saying "my dad this, my dad that" lol and yeayea, I'm an adult at 21 (but i dont feel like it!).. and never bought a car before, and my dad says he knows what he's doing- if I had a friend who's bought more cars then my dad, I would prob have enlisted their help.
Plus, with the selling of our old car, it is technically my dad's still, I've just been driving and paying for insurance the past 5 years. But I believe its still his on paper, so thats why he's taking control of the selling.

Plus, I'm working hard to figure things out for myself, hence this forum and emailing dealers. I have a lower quote on the car from emailing a dealer by myself (thanks to the suggestion of you guys!) then my dad got from going to a dealer in person. So I am taking my own initiative and effort too.. and so far am better then my dad haha.

So the dealer emailed me back with "We were not using the rebate in our quote. You have the choice of using the rebate or using the low finance special, whichever you prefer. Thanks"

So I'm guessing theres no way he can turn around and say he's keeping the rebate if I have this email from him. Awesome, I think 14,843 is pretty good so far with all the options I want.

And yup, I will be heading to a bank for loan numbers before judgement day at the dealer.

Aaaand, boy do I wish my dad was fixing me up with a car. I'm putting down a 1,500 downment of my own money, and will be paying back the loan with my own money. My dads giving me the thousand for the current car I drive, and I am super thankful for that, although I've put way more then a thousand into that car through paying for the insurance!

Treat it right and you won't have to auto shop again for another 25-30 years.
