That is great advice. At least a beginning point. Although I think there are LOTS of trees over 6". Still it will be a start. I am actually only going to work with maybe an area 200 feet square for now (the rest I plan to leave as is) and I have marked what I thought were the "best trees" either based on size or shape. Of course I am sure they will leave others as well. But, yea I need to remove the smaller ones and all the underbrush to make a final decision on where to put everything.

I have never lived "in the country" before. Never had to deal with a well and septic tank and deer and other creatures walking around the yard. It will certainly be a new adventure, but I know I will enjoy all the space and privacy.

You are right, the space and the privacy are beautiful. We left a 100-acre farm (of which we owned 2 acres but had the run of the rest) for a 1/3-acre plot in town. I miss the space, and my private rifle-range, but do NOT miss having to mow 5-plus acres per week. I also miss the 18hp tractor I used to mo that with, though.
You will enjoy the country as long as you don't EXPECT things to work as they do in the city. If nothing else, the problems and animals and septic system woes will give you something to laugh about - later
