As some of you know, I've been swapping in and out fuel injectors more often than some people change their underwear. The only way for me to get to injectors 3 and 4 is to take off the valve cover which, although not difficult, is kinda a PITA. So today, I took a hacksaw to the valve cover and removed that stupid little tang that keeps one from removing the fuel rail easily.

Somehow I missed that Peterpoop fixed his lean condition. So who is still getting a lean condition?

I'm guessing that the Yaris injectors are somewhere around 200-250cc injectors. from what I can see the 1zz is about 300-350cc. I believe the TC injectors are like 400cc or something. I remember reading a thread somewhere. so I think that 1zz injectors should be good to go for you. Check a junkyard and just pocket em. lol that's what we do in Hawaii.

Well when I put the stockairbox in, I was getting 12-12.1 AFR readings during WOT openloop. Only time I get into that number is during open loop. We all wish it could go into open loop sooner, but I don't think the blitz fuel controller controls that. |

fwiw, the trd s/c for the matrix/corolla was never meant to be used w/ the trd intake...it would void warranty otherwise since it would make the engine run lean. matrix/rolla guys use emanage to fix the a/f ratios to run intake, otherwise youre relagated to stock airbox and exhaust

sounds about right. however the guys using the CAI aren't having a problem with the AFR. Maybe their intakes aren't doing anything..... |

Congrats Long glad to hear you are on the right track...
unless you are still having bad dreams, in which a 50-foot-tall fuel injector uses his blue tape beam to battle the air intake monster for supremacy of the earth's AFR? |

Noogie,
You probably will never be able to fix the CELs at startup unless you can reflash the ECU to scale the larger injectors (which we cant currently do). You need injectors that are a little smaller to get rid of that. The car has a +/- 25% fuel correction, so you need injectors that flow no more than 25% more fuel than the stock units to avoid getting CELs. 10.5:1 is good, If you can get a fuel controler on there to lean it out a bit you will be in decent shape. |
