You know I've ever owned an ABS veicle, this maybe it. It is like a sandpaper grabbing and releasing quickly.

There you go! it's probably the abs doing its thing.

Go find some slippery surface and do some heavy braking to try to replicate the feeling.

sounds like abs, you might be able to easily deactivate it for your hard driving days...

It is definately NOT instant lock up, The car is fine without it. You just have to be smooth on the brakes and modulate the pedal.

Tamago is right, you could be on the bump stops. My car never exibits this behavior and I am lower than you are.

Mine has no abs and the only time I lock up the brakes is when I'm being an idiot.

Another thing to check is the plastic inner-fender liner. I had a similar problem and it turns out I was rubbing on it (with stock wheels and tires) because it had popped in. I just pushed on it to pop it back into place. Mine was never in an accident or anything, I assume its from autocorssing.

have you driven an abs equipped toyota with the relay removed? the brake booster is especially touchy on abs equipped models.

Yes and Subarus as well. Like I said.. you just have to be smooth. I've only done it on the track though, not on the street.

Yes if you start stabbing at the brake pedal, you are going to lock the wheels.
