i wouldn't recommend a larger diameter intake tube either. wreaks havoc on the ECU if you don't compensate for it.

agreed....i tried my intake from my matrix, which was 2.5", and it was incompatible w/ my yaris

Wow, so the consensus is there would be no benefit in increaseing the diameter of an intake piping to match the throttle body?

Yes. Unless you have this:

Then you need to port and polish, and match intake openings.
