Well, my base model sedan is different

I guess I am screwed on this fantastic inexpensive mod.

Here are the pics I just took of my steering column.
As you can see, the brown and blue cables are missing.....so I think anyway.

Can someone confirm?
Circled the connector where I think the two additional cables should be:

Picture from the bottom of the steering column...

That is correct. Looks like the 09 sedan doesn't have the wiring in place from the steering column to the ECM. Does it have the cruise indicators on the combination meter?

You're not totally dead in the water for this mod. You just have to do the 07-08 method, which involves running a single wire from the switches to the ECM. Take a look at the tail end of this thread:

Yes it does have the cruise indicators, but they are way at the top of the gauge cluster.

I will look at the 07-08 section. Thanks for the input.
<-goes and mopes and grumbles about not having cruise control.

ctscott,

one last question (for the next 30 seconds )

With the 07=08 mod, all we are doing to shorting pin 40 on the ECU to ground to turn on the CS and then short it to ground with a load (~600 ohms) to set the CS..

Or did I miss something?

That's all that's to it. See if your sedan has a wire already in pin 40. If so, you can tap it way up under the dash (per the discussion buried in that thread), or at least tap it somewhere along the line.

if you are standing in front of the car looking at the engine bay, it is attached to the firewall in the upper left corner

I installed the CC, when I switch it on the speedometer jumps once , pressing the set buttom dosen't set the speed . While installing , by mistake I connected the 12 V supply instead of the ground which stalled the engine immediately . Can anyone help me if I have screwed up the CC function of my ECU. The car is running fine otherwise.

So far it looks like only US and Canada Yaris have the cruise functionality built into the ECM. In the UAE do you get European Yaris? If so, cruise is definitely not built in.

I would say that there is a good chance that that ECM doesn't have cruise control, as that part number is not a USDM/CAN one and so far it appears that just ECMs for those markets have the functionality. One test that you can try is to measure the voltage on pin 40 of the ECM connector A21, with the connector in and the ignition in the ON position. If you measure +12VDC to ground on that pin, then there is a good chance that your ECM supports cruise. If you measure 0 VDC to ground, then it definitely does not.
