Well, the air flow will have passed already, but LtNoogie put it on his car and it still redirects the airflow towards the middle. So, if you have a mid-hatch spoiler, it'll direct it towards there, creating more downforce (which I'm not sure why you would want to do that on a fwd car).

Because at high speeds where aerodynamic aids will actually show any kind of effect, the rear of the car is effected by lift.
