price won't matter for a device this nifty...I'll get one

CTScott should plan on making them for other vehicles...which
should be fairly easy...canbus standard frame messages....could sell thousands of them

probably should update the first post with the new pricing estimate. Maybe even run a new poll, since the old one was based on a $75 target price. That would tell you how many realistically you'll need to make now.

I think it's a very nice piece and lots of people will still buy it.

Agreed on updating the first post to avoid confusion.

With the display that I am using, I don't hit price breaks until I am in the thousands, so I won't have to worry so much about minimum runs. With the original display, at quantity 100 it dropped from $20 to $6, so building a minimum of 100 was required to hit the price point.

I'd pay extra for CTScott's YarGauge.

A poll may not be a bad idea though on who wants it in the display bs the vent option now. If we are paying for the cool OLED and the clock module only gives 1/3 of the area of the vent, I may go vent if the text and bar graph are bigger. For $150-200, I'm still in.

Impressive. Can't wait to replace that boring, single function clock in my Yaris!

Well it essentially functions as a scanguage in itself. And anything that is built into a stock system looks so much sleeker than a scanguage mounted anywhere would. Plus, no wires anywhere out in the open. If its on par with the pricing on the scanguage and its integrated nicely it will sell just as well.

I know the OBD port has seperate functionality other than the features you are including. I know you are putting basic functions in there that common users will use but I saw you were adding a USB Port as well. Will you also be releasing the source code too? or make it reprogrammable to add different functions.

I do not know how much data you can program into this, but maybe you can make seperate "scripts" for sale that give the ability to use different functions with the gauge at a later date. Essentially you have reach to all of the OBD functions, i know it may just be a niche market, but it would be cool to see if it is reporting any knock/IAT/TPS etc.

I was wondering about this as well Scott. Any chance at a non-OEM mounting location or setup for those with a tach already and who'd like a different setup for AFR / voltage / MPG etc.

Also any chance the unit can display other stuff creatively with a bar graph? Like an AFR graph? An MPG graph that goes up to green for high MPG and down to red for low MPG?

I believe he said at one point that you would be able to setup charts and whatnot via the USB interface and some software. It would be pretty sweet to have it on the main unit, but I'll probably be keeping a laptop hooked up to it anyway so that's fine with me.

Development around the new display is going well. This week I added air to fuel ratio. I am amazed at how responsive the Yaris' wideband sensors are. At some point this weekend I'll take some video of the AFR mode in action.
