If you want to be conservative you can clean it every 15,000-20,000kms if you are in a very dusty enviroment. However that is still wya less than what K&N recommeds...
Here is some good reading for you: http://www.knfilters.com/faq.htm#4 If you only clean it once with compressed air is probably still ok. just don't do it again. That's a wet filter. The dust is trapped in the oil you won't get it loose with air... you will only break the thin cotton fibers. Don't panic when you see the filter all brown.... that's the way it is supposed to be. |
