2010 3Door S or a 5 Door S

I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and want to replace my 2008 with a 2010 3Door S or a 5Door S. I have looked in several lots around here and can not find a S. I will travel and buy anyplace in the US, do you have any suggestions as to where I can start looking?

If this is true I certainly commend you for your dedication!

Check in on your local area forums and request that people call their local toyota dealerships and find out if any of them have any Yarii in stock. This seems like the best idea to me.

I just ordered a 2010 3 door Yaris on Saturday and I tried to get the S. I was told by the salesperson that just 6% of all Yarii produced are in S trim & of that 6% they are all on the West coast. So you might want to try somewhere in California. Hope that helps.

i really don't know how Toyota USA gets their stock.. it is so much easier to get the wanted trim in Canada..

but .. why would you want a 2010 when you already have a 08?

They are showing-up in the Dallas-area this year. Don't know if they are special-order or not, but worth checking out. All Toyotas down here come from Gulf States Toyota.

I have a cousin who wanted a specific package on the Lincoln he bought a few years ago, and he sent a mass email to every Lincoln dealer in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma describing the package and color he wanted and that he was ready to buy NOW, then he let them make bids. He got exactly the car he asked for, for 8K less than the local dealer quoted as "lowest possible price" and they paid for his 1-way ticket to fly and get the car in OK City. This was a $40K car, so probably no free tickets on a Yaris, but you get the point.

Can't you just ask your local dealer if they can order one for you. Or is that what they just told you when you wanted a S model?

You should be able to check the stock of every Toyota dealer in the US on the Toyota website.

I am interested to know just how significant the "Star Safety System" is compared to Yari without it? I prefer the 3dr's looks though the 5dr is more versatile.

These new traction controlled models would be in high demand. Madison WI is very green. You might look there.

It seems (as read on YW) that Americans do not have much luck ordering a Yaris. Though, i'm pretty sure you can order a Sequoia V8 with ease.

Doesn't always work when databases are not updated. It took the arrival of the 2010 models before my car was removed from the listings. And that was over a month later.

if you're gonna buy a 5 door, you'd better be looking at the Scion xD too. the 3door has a hard enough time getting out of it's own way, i'd imagine the heavier 5door would be even worse.

and for what you get, the xD is a better car, features/dollar

With the slow economy, you should be able to find what you want, or a salesmen willing to get what you want relatively easily, even a Yaris. Just keep calling and bugging dealerships in your area, someone will decide they want the sale enough to help you out.

The Yaris will give you the highest mileage and it has that certain something that sets it apart from the rest. If I were going for more cargo space then the Honda Fit is mighty tempting. The XD is very nice but not weird (unique) enough for my taste.

the 5 door yaris is NOT going to get very astounding mileage IMO. working that little engine just too hard.

I've never driven an xD, but I'd like to. I'm not too keen on their looks in stock form. However, lowered with a nice set of wheels, I think they look pretty good.

2340 lb for the 5 door manual and 2295 lb for the 3 door. I doubt there would be much difference in gas mileage. Weight spec from Edmunds.
