Testing water on 3 Drive Throttle Controller for Yaris (Vitz)

I don't quite understand how you can blow the tranmission with this?! Are we talking automatic transmissions? Because I have good control over what happens when I shift my manual transmission and I don't see how a throttle controller could affect that?

Does anyone care to elaborate?
