You couldn't just take the ground from the parking light ground?

for some reason that ground wouldnt work...it was boggling me for like 30 minutes. I thought maybe my quick connect was splicing correctly or something.

For the lights the ground side is switched, so the parking light ground is only connected to ground when the parking lights are switched on.
