Block guard

Thanks guys! I am shooting for 200whp for my yaris ts 1.5
(1nzfe). do you think I need a block guard?

That depends how much money you consider to invest on it.

Personal opinion.. if you can DO IT ! I regret I didn't made mine with all the money I put into it and now that is complete I don't what to strip it again!

if i had a good standalone or some way to reflash the stock ECU I would not even open up the stock motor.. Piggy backs seem to blow motors IMO...

At the machine shop used to work at we did alot of block gaurds for turbo Hondas. We would weld it to the block and then shave it on the stone cutter. It was a bit overkill but the people who had it done usually ran over 25 psi and up. I have never seen this happen but I have heard in Hondas that they tend to move around and in some cases even slide down. I have never seen it and have my doubts

Well, they do. But like you said. Poor tuning.

Its not the tuning its the fact that you dont have control of what the stock ecu is doing.. it can +/- fuel and timing when ever it wants.... based on what it sees from its sensors.

and i would not do the guard IMO i dont think any good honda guys use them anymore...
