Good point! It is a subtle thing, but I love the uncluttered view of the Yaris the driving position. Yes, I can access gauges easily if needed, but I don't drive by the gauges...I drive by assessing traffic/road consitions and responding in the most safe/accurate way possible. In this regard I find the Yaris to be superb, both in packaging and in precise handling/steering.

Sir Alec Issigonis would be pleased with the Yaris layout, I think, although he's probably nix the stereo.
