That cocept has been around since the '40's and never found a market.
The newer aircraft simply use new matrerials and technologys but, it's the same old concept.
You still have to tow it to an airport.

Let's no loose sight of the fact that any aircraft comes under the rule of the FAA, at least in the US.
Most other indusrialized countries have simular governing bodies that will/do dictate an aircraf/flying car use,

Bottom line, you still have to be an acomplish pilot to fly one of them if you plan to stay alive!
They are not some "low and slow" flyers like some ultralights are.
