Ever replace an oil pump seal on a DSM engine? Please shoot me now

My eclipse has 230K miles on it, same engine and transmission. No major engine failure, or anything other than standard maintenance. I just can't afford to drop the entire transfer case / engine / etc. to replace a 12 dollar part.

So the car sits... in the driveway.... cold and alone I can't seem to part with it due to it being my first car and all.... /sigh

Anyway yea. Here is hoping I get 20 years or 2 million miles, which ever comes first!
If the car means that much to you wouldnt it be doing the car justice to have it repaired by a competant mechanic rather than rust away from negloect sitting in your driveway? look at the cost as a couple of belated car payments..
As for driving a Yaris for 20 years? i'm looking forward to my 5 years and your gone criterea.3 years to go

Yea don't remind me

It was one of those things my wife ended up pushing me towards. She's like either FIX this one and it may not fix the issue (and be out the 800 dollars or so) or put that towards a new car.

I plan on fixing it, but it's gonna have to sit this winter. I have no choice.

you dont have to drop the bottom end to pull the pump out. just take the front case cover off and the timing belt. i had to rebuild my engine like 3 times.(long story each time) the 4g63T is a pretty simple motor to figure out and tear down.
